A Great Leader

It brings me great joy to read all of the wonderfully good press and heart felt condolences of the passing of Gordon B. Hinckley. He was truly a remarkable man. I love logging on and reading all my friends blogs and on them is a picture of this great man. I talked to an old roommate last night and we were remembering our time at Rick's when President Hinckley came to talk and dedicate the Taylor building. I skipped class to wait for tickets to get in the auditorium to see him speak. I didn't want to just watch him on TV, I wanted to sit in the same room with a Prophet of God. I ended up getting in and we sat on the hard concrete stairs of the gym. I didn't care...just to feel his amazing spirit when he walked in and the hush that fell upon the crowd of over 4000 in the room was amazing! I will never be able to describe the feelings I felt that day as I sat and listened to him. I was also privileged again to go to New Orleans, LA with my family and my husband a new convert to listen to him one last time in person. It was still that amazing feeling as soon as he entered the room, even children were calmed and quiet. He was truly a man of God and I will miss him greatly.

Oh, new baby

my old roommate and cousin Christina had her baby. He is precious. I can't believe she has three now. He was quite a big boy. 21 inches and 8lbs 5 oz. His name is Brayden Harrison. He is great and I am so glad she and baby are doing good. Also Bridger my other roommate's son is doing great after his operation. He had surgery on his skull and is doing wonderful.

We're having a ???????

We are having a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are over the moon. We got to see our little very wiggly little boy today. He is a big thing for just 17 1/2 weeks. He already weighs 7 1/2 oz. He likes to eat. What can I say. I am doing great. Blood pressure is great, and I have gained 6 lbs. so far. My doctor said that was excellent. Jake of course only heard the words It's a Boy and then blocked everything else out. I am actually overjoyed. I didn't think I would be, but then just seeing how happy Jake was and now the family feels complete, makes me the happiest woman in the world. We tried to count the fingers and so far only looks like 5 on the one hand he would show. The other one he had behind his head, like he was relaxing. Already cocky!!! Just wanted to let everyone know, the due date is June 28, but he said that he will probably take him on June 18. We will have one more ultrasound around 30 weeks to be sure of my dates. I'll keep you updated.

Snow in Mississippi

Can you beleive it! We actually had a good snow in Mississippi on Saturday Morning. It is a big event here in the south to get good, well any snow. My phone started rining at 7 to tell me the great news and to see if I had seen it...of course I said no I am in the bed...I'll see it when I get up! All grumpy...but after the 4th call I decided to go a head and get up. It was actually snowing hard and we still had some in our yard today...hard to beleive I know, especially when last week it was like 70 one day. I decided it being Mackenzie's first snow, to put her in a dishpan and pull her in the snow...she wasn't too sure if she liked it at first. What gave me this idea, was that when I was a little older than her, maybe like a year, it snowed and they put me in a dishpan and pulled me in the snow behind a dirtbike! I don't remember it, but I have the pictures to prove it. So naturally I wanted the same kind of picture for my daughter, even if she doesn't seem to thrilled. It hasn't snowed in MS in 7 years. Actually last time it snowed I was on Christmas break from Ricks and I was so excited to go home to no snow...I was so tired of looking at it. And what do you know New Years night it snows. I started to cry. I couldn't even escape it being home, where some Christmas's we were seen in shorts and tee shirts. The snow then wasn't as good as this weekend. It brought back very good memories of many times in Rexburg. I missed you girls. OH, and no I wasn't tempted to step out of my house in a bathing suit in the snow! I will not elaborate on this, if you don't know me then you don't need to know the details, but for the ones who know what I am talking about...I missed y'all and the good times we had. Well anyway, we had a great time in Kenzie's first snow and as she would say she "payed in no" Translation, she played in the snow!

Thank goodness for Mother in Law's

I love my mother-n-law. She came up this weekend and while she was visiting she insisted on me letting her shampoo my carpets. No they didn't look terrible, but I do them about every 3 to 4 months, because of children and mainly our inside dog Phil. Bassett Hounds shed, for anyone that wants one inside. She would not let me help in anyway, she said she was shampooing her carpet when she went into labor with Jake. So I had to just let her work herself to the bone. She also insisted on going to Wal-Mart and told me what every you need just put it in the buggy. How could I say no that's okay? I'll tell you how, I just limited my need and want supply list and got only the things we really needed...oh, and some chips ahoy cookies that were on sale. The newest member of our family loves them during the middle of the night, Shhhh! Don't tell Jake, even though he always say's how can the cookies always disappear and I never see you eating them? I think we have a theif. HA HA! Just call me the cookie bandit. Also, this weekend my friend from high school came over with her two boys ages 2 and almost 1. They had a great time playing. Kenzie and Jackson are boyfriend and girlfriend and Jackson, wanted to push the stroller so Kenzie put a baby in it and he pushed it around the house. He kept saying daddy. Then they would walk by us and both say bye bye. I wish I would have had my camera. It was almost like they were playing mama and daddy. Maybe in there own little mind they were, I think Kenzie was just making sure he didn't take off with her baby. It was really good to see her not fight with him about touching her stuff. But they have play dates every now and then. They have been hanging out since they were born. Jackson came to see Kenzie in the hospital the day she was born...so you see, she has to like him! Anyway, I just realize more and more everyday that my little girl is growing up. We have started working with her to say no sir and no ma'am and yes sir and yes ma'am. She will say it after you tell her to. It's a start right?

Falling alseep

I have always heard of kid falling asleep while eating, but it had never happened to me before...well until Sunday. Kenzie always falls asleep on the way home from church, but this Sunday I wanted to keep her awake. I gave her some bread and she happily was eating. We were about 3 miles from home, and Sister Diamond(89 year old I pick up) said OH, Emily, do you have your camera? I said why, she said you have to pull over and take her picture. I pull over and pull out my camera and capture some sweetness. Then on to the house we go. She only slept for about 5 minutes and was wide awake when we got home...which is good, I am so stingy with my Sunday afternoon nap. You see we go to church from 9-12 and I love my nap afterwards. We get home and she eats wonderfully for me...and then off to bed by 1:30. We slept until 4:30....wow what a great day. It was wonderful and much needed and appreciated. She has been talking up a storm lately really making sense and telling you what happened and what she needs or wants. Sometimes it is wonderful, and then sometimes I wonder where did the silent smiles go. she is my precious little girl.
I also took some pictures of our newest addition at 16 weeks. I am finally feeling pregnant. I also turned 27 this month and had a great birthday. I didn't even do anything special , but it was a wonderful relaxing day. I got a great mirror for my house and can't wait until I decide where to put it up. I took a picture not that great, but ignore the dog in my messy bed. Right now it is on the floor in my room, being protected from little fingers. I was so excited when Jake brought it in!!!!! Man he loves me! I am just glad her remembered. So lots to be thankful for lately.
