Baby update

I went to the doctor yesterday. So far gained 24lbs...gained 1 lbs in two weeks (very proud of that). My blood pressure was great 100/75. They did a test to see if I was leaking Amniotic Fluid and it was negative. The heartbeat was great and strong and he is moving alot. I am measuring 34 weeks which is 3 weeks ahead of where I should be. I am 31 weeks according to my due date of June 28th. But according to when I think I got pregnant it is right on with June 9. I am having an ultrasound on Monday to see how big this boy really is. I swear he is huge. But I will give you more of an update on him on Tuesday when I get through my appointment. My last day of work is May 23. Kinda scary now only 3 more weeks of work.

Did someone say Turkey?

Jake has never been Turkey hunting until this year, and he has really tried to get in to it. He has been practicing and practicing his call for months...MONTHS now. He finally got a Turkey this morning. He is tickled to death. I am too...because Turkey season is almost over! Just wanted to let everyone see his latest accomplishments.

Update

Well I finally got my test results back from my Gestational Diabeties test...and I am not diabetic with this pregnancy. I am so glad my doctor made me take the three hour and not just assume like I wanted to that I was diabetic since I failed the one hour. Now I don't have to worry about being a special diet. I just still need to watch what I eat so I don't gain too much weight. So far so good with that.

30 Weeks and Ready

Okay so 30 weeks and ready....hmmm maybe. I am starting to get a little nervous about two babies, but so excited to meet this little guy I've been bonding with for the past 30 weeks. I went to the doctor and I have gained 23lbs and doing pretty good. The baby sounds great, and moving great. I am finally measuring right on at 30 weeks, so he is growing good. he is running out of room in there. I failed the one hour diabetes test..go figure! So I had the three hour today...boy that stunk. But the nurses were really nice and I saw some old friends so not to boring. I don't know how I did yet, but I am sure I failed it too. So I don't know if they are going to let me do it with diet or if I will have to take Insulin shots. They also put me on Iron pills. They didn't do that with Kenzie. Kenzie thinks she has a baby "brober" in her belly too. She is starting to really talk about him alot. But I don't think she has a clue that a real baby is going to come out of my belly and move into her little world. I hope she does well.

Last year and this year

This is last year's party and then this year's party. Boy what a difference a year makes.

Happy Birthday

I can't believe my little girl is two. She turned two a couple weeks ago, but we had her party Saturday. She had a better time this time than last party. I think she was just completely overwhelmed last year. I had to get some balloons blown up before her party, so I decided to wait until the last minute....Surprised? Well on our way to get them blown up, I get pulled over for speeding. I though I had ran the stop sign, but I guess I was going 41 in a 25? hmmm not too sure, but probably. Okay, so this lady knows I'm in a hurry and then gets on her cell phone just to piss me off I'm sure. I was nice though. We then go to get the balloons, I leave Jake and Kenzie in the car, and when I get back in Jake says more good news...the park where we were going to have the party has like three other parties there and there are like 100 or more kids there. No way!! so I thought really fast and we went to the park behind my grandmother's house. I often forget this place...it is where I had so many memories as a kid, riding bikes and skating and skateboarding. I think we spent most of our younger years there. It is a bigger park, but to be honest it was actually better there than the other one would have been. The kids had so much fun, and lot's of room to run and play. There wasn't anyone there until almost the end of the party. It was kinda chilly when we first got there, then the sun came out and it was beautiful couldn't have asked for a better day. Kenzie didn't cry one time and had a blast. I made the cake and mama came over Friday night and helped me decorate it...It turned out pretty good, for my first time, and mama's first time in like 20 years. We were up until midnight, and had a good time together. I was glad she helped me. We both had black teeth, from eating some of the black icing. It was a good memory maker for us.
The time has sure flown by and I can't wait for all the years to come...okay, maybe skip teenage year's!!!! Any offers for her at about 13- 16 year's old would be considered!!! Just kidding. She sure is growing and learning more everyday. It seems like yesterday, she was just born and we had the crying that you couldn't understand and all the emotions of a first time mama...and now we are almost with two little ones and it feels somewhat unreal to us. We wouldn't trade the mo's mo's (eskimo's or fish kisses) for anything. I am even glad for the tantrums at times...at least she is right on track and still on this earth with us. I love you Mackenzie Grace so much!

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today my little precious one was in an operating room having her extra thumbs removed. We were really worried about the whole thing....she loved sucking her left thumbs. How was she going to do with two arms in casts up to her armpits for 14 days? How was she going to make it with out her precious security of her thumbs? Well I want you to know it was great. She was great. She never complained, she never whined about it, she was a great trooper and it broke the sucking thumb habit and has never tried to suck them since. I am so glad we had the surgery and I am anxious to see if the new baby will have something similar. I hope not, but if he does then we will just deal with it. It is still a thought in my mind though, but I guess everyone has similar fears of what the unknown is...and this little busy body of a boy is defiantly unknown. I can't wait to met him!

Emily's Story

Okay, so no this is not a story about me....but this poor child and her family really need some support and need lots of prayers and money. If you can go check out this site and keep updated on this small 16 month old little girl who desperately needs a miracle. My heart goes out her her family and I hope that some of you will help. http://captainhambone.typepad.com/

"Fever's and Cough's Oh My"

This weekend has been okay. We had a good family day on Saturday. I filled Kenzie's sandbox up with water and made her a little pool, since I never got her any sand to put in it last year!!! Okay, yeah, I know great mother. She played in the water for about an hour while Jake mowed the grass and I pulled some weeds in the flower beds...with lots of frequent breaks. This belly of mine will not allow me to bend over for long periods of time. Then we went to mama's around 4 or so and she wanted to be outside, so it was beautiful and we got in the swing with nanny and then road a bike(tricycle) around on the carport. She can't reach the pedals at the same time (she is just a shrimp) But she learned that if she got all the way up at the front she could reach the ground with her tiptoes and push herself around. She loved it. She put nanny's car keys in the little holes on the handlebars and she would ride around like she was grown. Then we got home and just hung out a little bit more. Then Sunday morning woke up at about 5 with a fever of 100, and yes we still went to church. She wore a cute little summer dress...I am so excited for the summer clothes! She loved it...then we got home from church and she is running a 102.3 fever...so I think maybe it's an ear infection and we will see if she is still running fever on Monday I will make her an appointment. Well Monday comes and she is coughing now and still running a fever. She has slept terrible for two nights in a row by now and we take her to the doctor yesterday and she may or may not have strep throat...he didn't want to do a test. He is an old doctor and said he was diagnosing strep 35 years before there was even a test for it....so he gave her some med's to cover strep and sent me home. She rested so good last night and hasn't ran a fever since about 1 this morning. I have been putting Vick's on her feet and then putting socks on her and it seems to keep the coughing away for a couple hours at least. The coughing has been pretty bad especially at night. Her headboard on her bed isn't attached to the bed yet, and she has been really restless and between the headboard hitting the wall and her coughing I couldn't take it anymore. I went in and snuggled up with her so she couldn't move anymore and she pointed to the door and told me "mama night night mama's bed." She was actually begging me to leave. She didn't want me to hold her to where she couldn't move and had to be still. I am so glad that last night was a lot better...and I am glad that I remembered the Vick's on her feet...I don't know why, but this works better than any cough medicine does. So try it next time you have coughing fits...couldn't hurt!
